Settling In
It's the end of the first couple weeks since I've been thrown back into school, and it's been a blast. I've stayed late almost every night I've been at school to work on a piece of music I'm writing. The more I can write, the more I can learn about the equipment I'm using and how to make good sounding tunes.
I have a bit of a reprieve from a couple of my courses because Greg (the instructor) is away and had to reschedule them in a week or two. So I only have school 3 days a week right now, but as soon as Greg gets back, we're going to have to take the missed classes. So it's going to be pretty tight for a couple weeks when that all starts, I'll be a busy little boy.
On top of making awesome headway with a new piece of music I'm writing, I'm psyched about taking Music Theory 100. It brings back all the stuff I learned a decade ago in my short foray into piano lessons. It's now teaching me all the stuff I haven't learned yet, about how to decipher key signatures and write for various clefs other than the G and F clef. I need to know this stuff inside and out if I'm going to be any kind of proficient at arranging music.
